PM Modi Receives Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award

Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award is presented to Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Damodar Das Modi at a ceremony in Mumbai today.

Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award is an award presented to one person every year in order to honour those who have rendered selfless service to our nation and community. This award is presented in memory of the Famous singer Lata Mangeshkar who passed away earlier this year at the age of 92.

After receiving the award, the PM Modi got emotional and said Lata Mangeshkar was like an elder sister to him. He said, “For me, Lata didi was like an elder sister. I have always received immense love from her. After many decades, Lata didi will not be present in the coming Rakhi festival.”

PM Narendra Modi dedicated the award to all his countrymen. “When the award is in the name of an elder sister like Lata Didi, it is a symbol of her oneness and love for me. So, it’s not possible for me to not accept it.”

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the award was dedicated to all the people of the country. Music conveys a sense of motherhood and love. Music will take you to the pinnacle of patriotism and duty. The Prime Minister also mentioned that we are all lucky to have seen the power of music in the form of Lata Mangeshkar.
